Hi, I have an unusual approach to Wedding paintings. I've been studying art for over 2 decades. I've had an abstract phase, a whimsical and illustrative phase, I've studied realism, plien air, contemporary, and even graphic design, but my favorite by far, is surreal. Surrealism merges physical reality with the other: the unseen, the metaphysical, the energetic, the subconscious. Having spent hundreds off hours honing in on painting . Her work is informed by nearly a decade of formal training, graduating from CalArts and LACHSA, as well as continued education and practice since.
I have made art informed by my intuition for so long, a couple decades, that I can't not do that. I stay present knowing that if I do so long enough, I will receive a message or idea for what wants to come forth in the piece. It is challenging to do this with a time limit and audience, but I so fare, it's working out. I have spent decades honing in on and becoming sensitive to the elements of painting that make it say what it does. learning it's language and developing a visual vocabulary that speaks to people more deeply. In one painting, I incorporated a line of the vows in one of the paintings, radiating out from the center of their embrace. For another, the magical whimsy through texture and the playful moment of their leap (of faith), And in the next, unseen lines within the circle, reminiscent of healing songs. Each peace feels transformative, and it is, ultimately, one of the most life-changing rituals we ever choose to embark upon.
Hello!
My name's Marina, and I'm the painter of Vivid Heart Studio. I've been dedicated to painting since I was 13, when I was accepted to Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. Painting and drawing 3-5hrs a day, during very impressionable and formative years. I got to explore my own methods and be playful within art making before furthering my studies at California institute of the Arts. From there I received a BFA in traditional hand drawn animation, and have worked as an animator since. I often freelanced and spent my off-time painting. It's time now, to dive into it fully.
While I enjoyed painting in my studio for the last 20 years, these days I find more joy in creating work that's in direct service to others, bringing smiles and inspiration as I work, knowing it will have extra special meaning to them.
Excited for all the love there is to witness and reflect back through painting.
